How We Can Help You
Western New York Independent Living (WNYIL) is a family of agencies that lead in providing peer-run programs and services that encourage and educate individuals with disabilities of all ages. Employing experience and utilizing genuineness, the dedicated staff of WNYIL facilitate community change that empowers persons with disabilities to live, work, and engage within their communities.
The Open Doors Program supports individuals residing in nursing homes or intermediate care facilities in accessing the necessary care and services in their home and community. Transition Specialists assist with various aspects such as identifying required services, finding an affordable and suitable home, arranging in-home assistance, and preparing for a successful transition back to the community.
Working in conjunction with all the Offices for the Aging in Region 1, including the Niagara County Office for the Aging, WNYIL and Independent Living of Niagara County assist NY Connects clients across Niagara County. NY Connects offers free information and assistance connecting to Long Term Care Services. NY Connects serves people age 60 and over and the disabled of any age, as well as their family, caregivers and professionals seeking information to assist their clients.
